If you've been following my journey, then you might know me by my previous name.  Over the years growing my business as "Memories Photography" I always felt like something was missing.  After years of pushing, growing and soul searching, it finally occurred to me that my business was lacking soul and personality.  I was telling everyone else's stories but had never told my own.

I knew I wanted a business name that was more personal to me and maybe even told a little bit of my own story.  I started thinking, praying, dreaming and obsessing.  How do I tell a story through words?  And only a few words?  And what words do I use?  Admittedly it caused more stress and sleepless nights than I care to admit, but eventually I began to hear answers.  Eventually it became more and more clear and out of all this distress Gray & Arbor was born.

These 2 words represent so much of who I am in this life.  So much love, growth and humanity. These words probably only mean these things to me, and that's why this story is mine.

GRAY -  my childhood/maiden name.  The name that associates me with an amazing family, an amazing group of people who have made me who I am.  Memories of family gatherings, good food, great fellowship and a good ole Scottish banter over just about anything.  There is always love, and it is the people to whom I belong.  Grandpa Charlie in his corner armchair, Grandma Mary taking care of everyone (18 grandchildren and she could feed us all).  So many precious, precious moments and precious people who helped mould me into who I am today.  

ARBOR - to represent my home town.  Arborfield, Saskatchewan.  The place that guided much of my morals, values, and sense of community.  The life lessons that taught me to be independent, to persevere, and to forgive.  A community who taught me compassion, and love for my neighbour.  The things I still carry with me today.

Searching for my story has been an incredible adventure of self-forgiveness and enlightenment. I can truly say that I have found myself along the way.  I believe that knowing my story is only going to make me better at telling yours.  My soul is more moved to listen, learn and love.
